Kuhl seems to bill this shirt as a hiking shirt because it is breathable and I'm guessing because it provides sun protection. While this is probably true, I've found this shirt to be amazingly versatile in other ways. First off, my wife thinks this shirt looks great on me. She's even had me wear it on dates. On one occasion I hiked in this shirt on a muggy day. It did pretty well in that type of weather, but what really impressed me was in the middle of the hike, I ran into a horrific patch of mosquitoes. I rolled down the sleeves, buttoned up the shirt, undid the collar buttons and extended the collar up. While I must have looked like an idiot, I saved myself a ton of bites. I was very impressed. Most recently, I did some hiking in the Middle East. One day I was in temps between 55 and 80. The shirt was great down to 70 or so with the sleeves rolled up and good down to maybe 60 with the sleeves rolled down. Below that I had to put an extra layer on. Another day I traveled to the Dead Sea on a windy day with temps between 60 and 70. The shirt was perfect as a shirt to wear to the beach in that type of weather. Again, the ability to roll the sleeves up and down really added to the versatility of the shirt. And being able to wear it to a nice dinner after hiking is a great plus. One other thing: the zipper pockets are great. I store my sunglasses in there without fear of scratching. I love this shirt! Word of caution, I am slender and very tall. I wear 38 inch sleeves. The sleeves on this shirt are probably around 35 inches. Obviously, too short for me, but I make it work. If you are a normal sized human, this will not be a problem. It would be a godsend if Kuhl made tall sizes.

I admit I am in-between sizes; I need a medium in my shoulders but a small in hem and sleeves, which means I buy a medium. But while most shirts run long on me, this one is ridiculous in the length and girth below the chest. Most shirts made by outdoor companies are cut to fit a reasonably fit (or at least not morbidly obese) people, but this one feels like it was made to fit over a beer belly.

Untypically for Kuhl my XL runs a tad small. The use of "rubber" buttons on this shirt doubles or triples the time to button up or down, much prefer the metal buttons or snaps.
