This is a fantastic jacket! Really well designed and crafted, and it looks great on. I love this thing, I wore it around the house the first few days after I got it because I was so happy with it, it's one of THOSE jackets...and for $119 it's a steal. It feels like it will last forever! The canvas is supple and moves easily but also feels very substantial and sturdy. The saddle stitched seams feel light and flat, as advertised, and they are really effective at keeping weight and bulk down so the jacket is very light and comfortable and super easy to maneuver in, but it's also warm enough to keep you toasty down into the low 40's I'd say, and maybe up to the low 60's before you get hot. If you layer in a thermal it's warm enough for a really cold day. The articulated shoulders are unlike anything I've experienced in any other jacket and the effect is amazing, it really works. Feels like the arms move for you! The weave of the material is nice and tight and works really well as a windbreaker, and it gives the material a quality feel. The patina dye is very unique, too. Adds to the special look and feel, it's one I haven't seen anywhere else. I chose the gunmetal color and it's really cool looking. Kind of has a dark green hue, but if you stare at it it starts to look brownish. Super neat. The soft light fleece lining is the perfect heft, not too thick, not too thin, and the arms are lined with a satin like material so your arms slide right in with ease. The styling is really eye pleasing and eye catching, feels good wearing it and you'll get lots of stares, if that matters to you. The design and cut creates a nice seal at all the entry points when zipped that the wind and cold just can't seem to penetrate. Zippers are all top notch and work seamlessly as well with just the right amount of well placed pockets (two hand, one chest, one interior hidden) that are all zippered and lined with the same soft fleece. For the people who are complaining about the depth of the hand pockets, which seems to be just about everybody: it's designed that way intentionally!! This is first and foremost a functional, working jacket, born in the mountains, the pockets aren't meant primarily for phones, wallets and keys etc., they're meant to warm your hands, and they're extremely effective in that regard. Here's what I think people are missing: There is a fixed amount of space in any jacket between where the pocket entrance slit is located and the front zipper of the jacket where the pocket has to end. They made a conscious choice to place the pocket slit a little more forward, making it easier to both locate and insert your hands, as well as pull them out. The trade off for that is less distance to the center zipper and a smaller pocket. There is just enough room for a balled fist, the most efficient position to warm your hand quickly, which also minimizes any extra air space inside the pockets when a hand is in there, thus making it a more efficient warming environment. They compensate for the shallower pocket by lengthening the sleeves a little, which serves the double purpose of keeping them from riding up your arm when you reach, and also creating a nice seal around the pocket entrance when your hand is in there so no wind gets in. Simple, and genius. You can still fit your keys and phone in there if you're walking around town, just keep them zipped so you don't lose your things, that's why the zippers are there. Storage is their second priority, so naturally it's a little less effective in that capacity, but again it's a very logical trade off. The chest and inner pocket will both easily fit normal carry around stuff like phones etc. as well, unless you're carrying the ones that are as big as a piece of toast. As for sizing, I'm 5'10" 185lbs with a (semi) athletic build and the Medium fits like a glove. I put that they fit true to size, but most of my clothes are size large and I'm a medium in this, so if you're between sizes on their chart, like I was, I'd go with the smaller size. I ordered both and I was swimming in the large. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, functional jacket that will last years and look good doing it this is the one for you. If you're on the fence don't hesitate to grab one up, you won't regret it. Can't say enough good things about this Jacket...it's basically a perfect garment! Customer service is great, too! Kühl is a new go-to brand for me. This jacket is that good.

I'm 6'5" and fairly thin and can never find a jacket long enough that is also fitted and not baggy. I got a large and it is perfect, fitted in the body with great length in arms and torso. Still enough room to layer underneath.

Great jacket! I am a XXL tall guy who usually cannot find sleeve length in any jacket even “Tall” sizes. I bought the XXXL and the fit was perfect! Every measurement is right and I could layer up while being outside all last week. Survived temps in the 30s with a T-shirt on under, cuts the wind and rain. Buying another one

Recently bought my second Burr jacket because I loved the first one so much. The old one is now a great work jacket. Medium is loose enough for Alfpaca Fleece sweater underneath, but with a regular long sleeve shirt, fit is perfect. Great for travel: a) warm enough with a long sleeve shirt and still cool enough for active persuits, long sleeves and tail cover well; b) Inside and outside chest pockets hold everything important (wallet, passport, int'rn'tl dl) keeping them safe and outa the pants pockets. New jacket outside pocket is slightly tighter than first one. Please hold the size, any smaller on this pocket will ruin it for holding a passport.
