The KÜHL JETSTREAM™ JACKET is a lightweight, high performance rain jacket made with AIRSKAPE™ fabric. This waterproof/breathable fabric boasts a 20K waterproof rating, 16K water vapor transportation, and a 2.5 layer 15 micron thick hydrophilic PU laminate with blue pearl finish.
AIRSKAPE™ fabric has a clear hydrophilic membrane which absorbs and spreads out moisture allowing the fabric to dry faster. The pearl backer darkens as the water disperses before evaporating allowing you to see the technology working. The face is a woven nylon ripstop for mechanical stretch and strength. The surface has a soft hand and is extremely lightweight. All seams have been fully sealed. The center front, two hand and two chest pocket zippers are all YKK water resistant. The right pocket converts into a stuff sack with a reflective ribbon loop.
The JETSTREAM features KÜHL's 5-panel articulated sleeves for better range of motion, as well as an ergonomically, anatomically correct pattern to follow the contours of your body. The low profile, stretch cuffs seal out cold and wet. KÜHL's signature hood has a reinforced brim and clean and sleek eye-lock for low profile adjustment. Custom KÜHL reflective ribbon at the inside draft flap and pockets provides better nighttime visibility.

I really like this jacket. But, sadly, it lacks pit-zips. Since I'm a traveler, I use one shell and one fleece for all my needs. Thus, I'd use this jacket for day to day, skiing, and hiking. Some of these activities really require pit-zips. I was excited when I saw this at REI, but put it back on the rack once I saw it was lacking this key feature. Let me know if this product is improved to add the pit-zips.
REPLY FROM KÜHL®: Pit zips? Love them. For spring conditions, you're missing out by leaving this behind, let alone on the rack. Perhaps it's not the one and done your looking for, at a higher price point with water proof pit zips. This does the trick in the wasatch for spring conditions, etc when properly layered. Thank you for the feedback.

On me it tends to be form fitting and the fit is a little tight especially across the shoulders. I am a medium according to the size chart but it was too binding through my upper back and shoulders. That may be unique to me and going up to a large worked well for me. I can now comfortably wear it with a base layer or as an outer layer over other clothing without feeling restriction in movement.

I'm 5'11 and 180lbs, I usually fit comfortably into a medium/Large in most KUHL clothing. This jacket fits small, and the sleeves feel short compared to other KUHL jackets. I suggest fitting a size larger than usual for anyone purchasing this jacket.

Saw a guy at work wearing this jacket and went right to get it. However, at 6'2" and 220 the fit was good but the sleeves were a little short. Is this jacket made in Men's Tall sizes?
REPLY FROM KÜHL®: We only offer the sizes you find here on the site. Please contact us at CS@kuhl.com or call us for help in finding the right fit. Hope we can find you the right sleeve lengths in a style you love.

I ordered this for overnight delivery for a trip to Southern California in the midst of a 2" rainfall projected. The folks at Kuhl were very helpful with the expedited shipping. The jacket is lightweight, very functional and even stylish. I ran a water faucet over the sleeve and the water completely beaded off with no soak through. I am looking forward to having this protection for the weekend and for the wet spring ahead. I hope Kuhl develops a matching pair of jetstream pants. I always like appreciate the quality of Kuhl products.

This jacket is very well made. The fabric has a little stretch to it so it restricts your movement less, which is important, because this jacket is not made for people with broad shoulders and big arms. I am 5'10" and 220#. I got an XL. It will work but it is a little tighter than I would like. The XL is 11.8 oz, which is a little more than I expected since a large is advertised as being 9.6 oz. Not a huge deal unless you are an ounce counting freak. Overall, it is a really nice, well made jacket that seems like it will last. Also, the waterproof zippers are surprisingly smooth.

I think it will work well, fits great
I use this jacket for hiking and all things outdoor. It is an excellent rain jacket but it also looks great for running around town in or when going out for dinner or drinks on sunny days.
Fits great. Wish KUHL had the jacket in maroon as I'd seen in ***, but I'm looking forward to using it. Haven't had any rain Colorado yet though.
Use for wind breaker and rain. Great jacket.
Great lightweight and yet breathable rain jacket. It packs surprisingly small. The hood is very adjustable to help you get work done while wearing the jacket in the rain.
Excellent rain jacket
