I really like this jacket. It's a great all around jacket with the option of having a hood but also having it neatly tucked away. I get more jacket compliments when I wear this than any other jacket I own.

I have 2 of them. Best all around / travel lightweight jacket I have ever owned, period.

Purchased at a military exchange and I'm very happy with the choice. I echo some of the other reviews regarding an inner pocket for extra storage and a dual zipper. Keeping the jacket zipped while in the car can be uncomfortable while wearing the seat belt. Unzipping from the bottom would be advantageous.

I bought this jacket in pirate blue on clearance at REI for $99 which was a steal. I'm 6'4, 190lbs and the size Large fits like a glove. If I weighed any more it would be too tight, mostly at the bottom. And the XL would be too big. Overall this jacket is dope and looks awesome - I get compliments on it all the time. It has an oiled cloth feel because it's water repellent. I don't regret the purchase one bit, especially for the price. But there are a couple of things that could be improved. First - the hood makes the collar really thick & stiff when it's stowed which might bother some people. Second, there's no liner or insulation which is fine for me. I wanted a lightweight jacket so didn't buy it for that anyway. Plus it's still good in the wind. With a base layer and Patty nano (* Editor's Note: KUHL Spyfire vest is best!) vest I've kept plenty warm in very cold, windy, snowy conditions without wearing anything too bulky. However there are also no interior pockets which definitely might bother some people (myself included). Lastly, there's no elastic or drawstring or ease around the bottom and the zipper is only 1-way, not a 2-way double where you can unzip the bottom part upward. So it's a little tight when sitting down with it zipped. You also won't be able to reach into your pants pocket either. I still give it 4 stars. If Kuhl fixed any one of those issues I'd give it 5 stars. If they fixed them all I'd give it 10. My solution was to buy some canvas material ($5) and take it to the tailor to have some interior pockets sewn in along the same seams as the outside pockets so you can't even tell. I also had her cut the hood off & sew some velcro on there to make it removable. And cut a couple of 2" slits on the sides to relax the fit just a bit. Now it's perfect. Plus I have custom hidden pockets with velcro flaps & seam separators to hold things like my phone & sunglasses securely. I can even carry an iPad in there. It's my all around go to jacket for everything short of a torrential downpour. It's so lightweight it rolls up very tightly so it's really easy to stow & pack. Which is nice because it looks so good (and now uber functional) so I want to take it everywhere with me anyway.

if you are a camper or an outdoorsmen I would urge you to consider this purchase. I have been on many a trip with this jacket and I am amazed how many roles this thing can cover for its relatively small size. it can be warn in warm weather with no discomfort while providing warmth on chilly nights. having the ability to use the hood whenever you see fit is also nice when it starts raining. the fabric is incredibly durable for its relative thinness and lightweight nature. I could not recommend this product more strongly. By far the best Jacket I own.
