These are the best travel pants: they fit well, have a million pockets, dry fast, and don't make a lot of noise like other synthetic fabrics. HOWEVER: after wearing them on a 3-week trip, they badly pilled between the legs in the crotch area. I brought them back to the store and they assured me they'd never seen that before and it is probably a manufacturing defect. Reassured, I bought a second pair to wear on another 3-week trip a few months later. Lo and behold: the same amount of pilling. While it's not in the most conspicuous location (unless I were prone to manspreading), this should not happen with a garment that price from this brand. I have other KUHL items that have withstood the test of time. Not this one. I should note that I am not a high-impact wearer and the pants were mostly worn while on the plane and walking around cities. I am very disappointed, as these pants are otherwise the best-fitting and well-designed travel pants I've ever worn. KUHL, please make these pants in a different fast-drying fabric.

I've had experience with other pants made out of a similar DWR coated 4-way stretch Nylon/Eslastene construction and these are my favorite by far. Whereas some feel like glorified yoga pants (take Prana's Brion Pant for example), Kuhl manages to add enough additional features and attention to detail to turn these into the ideal day-to-day pants which can also handle functioning as work pants, hiking pants, snow pants, or maybe even combat pants if you're feeling bold. The fit is excellent and the knee articulation/crotch gusset really opens the door to complete and uncompromising mobility. All 6 pockets and 7 zippers function well without being a weak point for water to seep in. Drawcord ankle hems are a nice touch as well. Although these pants seem durable enough, it would have been even better if Kuhl could have double or even triple stitched them. Other brands like Triple Aught Design do this to their pants and they're absolutely bomb-proof as a result. The Nylon/Elastene material is good for the general pant body but probably not ideal for belt loops. If your belt is too heavy it could potentially slide down or move around on your hips more than you'd want due to the stretchy strips of fabric trying their best to hold it up. I don't know if one would ever snap on me under heavy use, but again--double or triple stitching would go a long way to alleviate that fear. I have a lot of other ideas on how to improve upon the overall design of these and similar pants (get at me, Kuhl team) but those are just additions to further a product that is already on the path to perfection in my opinion. These remain the best pants I own and I wear them pretty much every day.

These are my go to travel pants, I've taken them around the world and they have held up fantastic. A few different colors would be nice.

These have a very interesting potential.\nfeel well clothed and ready for any adventure.\nAll of the above
Love the fit of garments (pants & shorts). The ease of closure is unique to your product. I use for leisure purposes, not hiking.
Although the measurements were correct and standard for all my son's pants, the Kuhl's Raid Raven fit oddly both in length and width.\n\nThe cost of the pants was over $100 yet free returns were not offered, surprising in this day of internet marketing. I won't use Kuhl's again both given the poor quality and poor customer service.
Material changed slightly from the material in the raid pants I previously purchased thru REI - both pants are great but I preferred the REI version of the raid pant.
