I've had my Ryder Free (formerly Ryder Lean) pants for almost a year now. I have other Kuhl pants too, which I also like a lot, but these are me faves. I get comments on these pants all the time, with people thinking they are oiled "tincloth". Good cut, and after many washings the Dark Kahki still looks good. Sizing was accurate for me.

I picked up my first pair of Kuhl pants about 9 or so years ago. I was shopping at REI and they had just a few Kuhl products. It was a new brand for REI back then and the salespeople didn't know much about them, but I was struck by the high quality construction and choice of materials. And... I thought they were pretty "cool". Since that time, I have bought many more pairs along with shirts and jackets etc. Over time the Rydr pants have won out as my favorite. I love the thicker material, yet it's not binding or uncomfortable. Walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting. In any position the cut seems to give exactly what's needed. Everywhere I go, I get compliments on the pants. I wear them everywhere, from the office to customer meetings to sunday hikes to serious snowshoeing. Kuhl product are simply the best. Nothing else really compares. I've tried all the other outdoor rugged-type brands but nothing matches these pants. The material is like nothing I have found anywhere else. Maybe it's from outer space? Who knows... but I do know that the fit, cut, styling, and quality of these pants set them apart. And the best part? I still have my very first pair. And they are still in perfect shape.

I purchased these pants for work. We shall see how good they hold up. One thing I noticed is on the top of rear pockets I wish they would of double layered where the rivets are located. That's where I usually rip out the butt on previous work pants in the past from stooping and bending over. Needless to say, let's pray that not to happen since these are not cheap for work pants.
REPLY FROM KÜHL®: You might also want to try The LAW pant as our toughest work pant. It is incredible as it is both tough, and soft on the skin, with lots of room to move about. http://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/pants/the-law/

There is alot to like about these pants but they are definitely NOT slim fitting. The "lean" label just seems to mean that they are narrower in the calf. The top and thigh area is still quite large and baggy on somewhat tall slim guy (6'4" 185 lbs). Big disappointment! When I saw there were three categories of width including "lean", I was excited to try them but no go.

The dark colored fabric shows whitish lines and discolorations after washing. Otherwise great
N/A\nI did not get Indigo, I got Espresso and Dark Khaki.
Wear these for everything, work to play. Great quality and such a better brand than the alternatives. Highly recommended for anyone who plays and works hard and needs a break from jeans.
Love these pants. Fit very well and very well made.
Pants fit very well and the style is unique.
