These pants are just a better Ryder. With an extra pocket and tougher reinforced fabric. If you like tough, comfy, manuverable pants. These are the best availible.

Carhartt pants grow up to become THE LAW

5/5
Fit: True to Size

Again, i'm a seasoned Kuhl pant wearer, if you are too, just buy these and enjoy. For those who want to make certain these are the coolest pants ever, check it out. These pants are so bombproof they can practically stand up on their own. Putting them on instantly makes you feel more capable, hotter (the fabric is thick), and just more mentally and physically BADASS (Kuhl's middle name). My only complaint is the stretch panel below the knee. It should be placed above the knee to relieve stress from the knees bending. Having it below the knee just makes it an added cool factor and potential spot for blowout. No big deal, i've purchased 2 pairs of The Law and look forward to those days where there's no better choice to put on. For the record: I'm 6´3", 195lbs, always buy a 35x34 and have The Law in 36x34 just so I can really layer up in the winter. Perfect for me. I have a pair of Revolver Pants in a 36 that definitely aren't too big, but the 35 is perfect for me. You won't regret buying THE LAW.

In Love

5/5
Fit: True to Size

I love these pants! Best article of clothing I have ever ran a belt through. Running through the woods often gives one an appreciation for clothing that can offer protection from the occasional scrape, cut or abrasion. These pants possess a rugged durability, offering that protection, without sacrificing comfort along the way. I especially appreciate how the cloth is assembled (very securely, I might add) in such a way that allows freedom of motion without bunching. Plenty of pockets for my stuff, colors are great as well. Seriously, the stitching, the material, the measurements, and the design all go a long way to show that a lot of thought went into making these exceptional pants. Very well worth the money, I'm probably going to purchase another pair, in fact. I mean, come on! We live in the future! Why doesn't everybody make their pants this way?

Fit: True to Size

Hands down the best pants I have ever owned. Material is great. Knockabout Kloth is as comfortable as it is durable. Fit was spot on for me. I wear 38 by 32 in these and same size Ryder pants. I am 6' 1" and 225lb. Freedom of movement in these pants is awesome. Only thing I would like to see is a few more colors, maybe a light Khaki or Gunmetal.

These pants are great. Comfortable yet heavy duty when you need a heavier fabric. The fit is very good for me I am 6ft and 205lb with climbers / skier legs. Most pants which fit my waist are too tight on my legs, but not these. There is room for lots of movement without feeling like you are wearing a kilt. Nice work Kuhl designers!

The Law

Fit: True to Size

I wanted a Carhart-like weight without the stiffness and bland style. The weight of the Law is perfect...like a softer version of the Carhart. I'm a slender guy (5' 11", 160) and I'm used to pants being a little baggy. These pants, however, had literally twice the needed fabric to do the job. I understand the motive to have them loose, but in a stiff wind I'm afraid I'd get chaffed from the flapping. I felt a little like MC Hammer on my way to the mountains. The recommendations to go a size larger around the waist didn't work for me. I wear 32"...bought 33" and now have to pay return shipping to fix the issue.

Dress Like a Lumberjack without looking like one

5/5
Fit: True to Size

These are pants you can do stuff in. As a contractor, I often have to get into the thick of things; as a business owner, I have to look respectable. For years my go-to pants were jeans. No more. The Law is the type of pant you can work, or play in all day, dust them off and go for a steak with your friends. They are also comfortable. A fabric that is soft to the touch, unlike other Heavy Duty Pants made from canvas, or ripstop, They have the freedom of movement to let you Climb a rock, hike a challenging trail, fell and buck a tree, or do anything you like. The Sizing is a little off, when compared to other Kuhl pants, but Kuhl did a good job of putting that in the product description. For instance they recommend 1 size lager i.e size 34 rather than 33. I would concur, my Fugitives at 33 fit perfect; my ryders @ 34 are too big but the Law at 34 is spot on. These pants are well worth the money.

Law may rule but...

4/5
Fit: Fits Small

Ok...luv Kuhl pants and shorts and have a few pairs but I have to tell people that buy the LAW based on the sizing of the REBEL to go up 1-2 sizes. My REBELs are perfect at 34 but when I ordered the LAW at the same size I had to send back for 36. Fits good now. Its a little shorter in the crotch to waist than the Rebel ...but it feels much more like a pant that will last forever than anything else that I have owned. I love the zipped pocket for your wallet or cell phone based on previous experiences. I am torn between the two pants. Time will tell which gets the best thumbs up. I will admit that IS all I wear for pants these days...they are the most comfortable of all I have worn.... gone are my 30 years of wearing jeans.

Overall impression of the men's line of trousers

4/5
Fit: True to Size

The sizing is too fashion forward for the core demographic of 40-50 year olds who would just prefer their pants to fit. The materials and the construction are the best in the marketplace at any price/value point but the company does not seem to have the chutzpah to push this as a major selling point. When I can get the size right, and it does vary within the line a lot, this is the best fit I have ever had - outside of the bespoke suits I've had made. JRS

Good construction. Too small.

Fit: True to Size

Sturdy appearing pants, was planning on taking them for a test-hike, but they run too small I am a 32 waist, I got a 33 and it still ran small. I bought online and will now have to send them in to hopefully get them exchanged. They seem nice, but the sizing is confusing. [Yes, The Law unfortunately does run small in the waist size, but we would have bet a 33" W would have fit you. In our testing, we needed only to go up one size. Please return with your comments after you've exchanged your 33 W. So sorry for wasted time and effort. Sending you an email follow up. ~ Kuhl]

You know that jacket you reach for just because its got that extra bit of substance to it? You could just have a light rain shell, but there's something about a jacket with some heft to it. That's The Law, only in paint form. You just feel like the end of the world could go on, and you'd be fine as long as you're wearing The Law. The pocket setup rules. That zipper pocket has not scratched my phone(galaxy s4 active without case/screen protector). Again, this survey process has made me want to YouTube review your products asap, so stay tuned. I am in Afghanistan and wear Kuhl pants everyday. I cannot do my own laundry so am not sure how the laundry service treats our clothes, but Kuhl stands up spectacularly to it, as well as to the desert environment in this country. My only gripe is that the front pockets on the pants are far too small. Other than this annoyance, I could not be happier with all my Kuhl purchases (I own Kuhl pants, sweaters, and shirts). I would highly recommend Kuhl to anyone who travels or works in less than desirable locales and needs tough and dependable clothing.

The Law\n I am typically very hesitant to give a review of a product that I have only had for a week, but in this case I would love to. It is very rare that I'm this impressed with a product, quite frankly I'm having a hard time remembering any time where I had such a positive first impression. \n I have spent several years as a professional athlete and during that time helped provide feedback for gear currently on the market, as well as prototypes. Now by no means does this mean I am a pro when it comes to pants, but I do have experience with working with individuals that cut corners for profit verse those that put a superior product. So far I have had these pants for roughly a week and logged about 37 miles in them while quail hunting; 20 on trail an additional 17 off trail, with the terrain navigated being the mountains of California. The first thing that stood out was just how dense this material is, causing the draw back of being slightly heavier than the typical pant I wear (my old military cammies), but due to cut of the pant I noticed significantly less strain on my hips due to the pant not binding around the knee when traversing up hill. This freedom of movement due to the cut of the pant ended up giving me the illusion of a much lighter pant, mainly because of how it worked with my movement rather than obstructed it.\n So how does this pant perform off trail in dense chaparral and coyote bush? Amazingly. The double ply material over the majority of the pant provided excellent protection and for the first time in as long as I can remember my legs were not tore up when I got back to the house. Furthermore this pant even provides some protection against yucca plant, and for those that have hiked in the stuff, I'm sure you are aware how much of an annoyance it can be to dig out broken yucca needles from your legs.\n I do however have a bit of a concern with a few small things I have noticed with the pant. First, Kuhl states that the pants will "patina" with usage but there are some spots, the crotch and lower leg where the pant is in continual contact with the brush, that a fair amount of the dye has already worn to a khaki color. This has not caused any breakdown in the integrity of the pant, it is just a little disconcerting seeing this amount of discoloration from a couple of little hikes. My second observation is there is a small amount of fraying on the stitching holding the gusseted crotch in place. As of now the stitching is still holding, but seeing any fraying along a seam troubles me. I will not be sending this pant back if there is a small amount of tearing along a seam, I will just fix it myself, but lets just hope it never gets to that point.\n With my concerns about the pants (not problems) aside, it was your passion for the product produced along with the pride shown in your Youtube videos that ultimately resulted in me purchasing the pant. I am an "end-user," meaning I am known for being extremely hard on gear, and I expect the same from my gear that I expect from myself. It was seeing detail and quality of products used, from the waist button to the quality of material used in the pockets (what I can only imagine the easiest place to cut money), that showed me that this pant just might be able to hold up the unreasonable amount of abuse I will undoubtedly throw at it. Thanks for being one of the last companies with this amount of pride taken in your product, it has not gone unnoticed by me and I will be purchasing more of your products in the future.\n ***\n
