RENEGADE™ SHORT 12"
The KÜHL RENEGADE™ SHORT 12" is cut from TUFFLEX™ fabric. This durable, 4-way stretch fabric has a brushed back, repels water, and dries quickly with DWR.
Our Kühlair™ vent system keeps skin kühl, while UPF 50 keeps skin safe. The anatomically engineered fit, Born Free™ gusseted crotch and Free Ryde Waist™ make these shorts comfortable for any maneuver.
The easy care, 12" inseam RENEGADE™ SHORT is the perfect travel companion. Seven total pockets provide abundant, secure storage.
Please Note For Ordering Correct Size: Consider ordering one size up! If you normally order a size 34 KUHL short, you may need to order a size 35. Why? To improve the design, KUHL re-designed the Renegade program so there is no elastic in the waistband. Please call customer service at 800-252-3185 if you have any questions.

By now you have probably read all the wonderful reviews and I agree with virtually all. The shorts have one SERIOUS design flaw that could easily be fixed. The shorts feature two side zippered pockets which are great for securing keys, etc. HOWEVER... if you forget to zip up the contents will "eject" the minute you sit down, like in your car, etc. I have lost two pairs of glasses, countless pens and nearly my smartphone. It's the way the pouch of the pocket has been designed. Simply "remembering" to zip the pocket is NOT a good solution. I wish Kuhl would fix this major flaw!
REPLY FROM KÜHL: We believe you may be referring to the KUHLAIR Vent System, the vertical zippered pockets that act as air vents. Yes, you have to zip them up if you use them to stash your personal belongings. No changes are planned to this widely used element of KUHL design. We understand how frustrating loosing your things are and regret you've lost your glasses, pen and almost a smart phone. The pockets must be zipped in order to secure them.

These shorts looks like a right proper pair that I can dress up with a polo, but they feel like a pair of board shorts. Dry, cool, and they move like a second set of skin. Unlike most board shorts, these have lots of pockets, and I especially like the cell phone pocket (a signature of Kuhl's pants & shorts). I'll be buying more colors for sure.

I do a lot of day hikes in and around the Tahoe area. Some of those hikes involve trails that cut through water and of course varying weather conditions. These shorts provide more than adequate ventilation, moisture transport and flexibility. They are as comfortable from right out of the wash to 20 miles later. I cannot recommend these enough.

The Kuhl Renegade is a comfotable, tough short that also serves to look neat, and perform under casual social circumstances as well it handles hard work and play. It breathes well and allows freedom of movement. It holds up to abrasion and lasts- I have one pair that's maybe two years old now. Pretty remarkable, really considering what ai put em thru. The only negative thing I can say about them is the sizing. My old pair, in a size 30 waist, has plenty of room, not too tight. My new pair, also size 30, is far tighter. Wish the sizing in the Renegade was more consistent! ALSO: hey Kuhl- how about some odd sizes!!! I want a 31. 30 too tight, 32 falls right off. Odd sizes, ever heard of it? 29, 30,31,32, etc. Give us a size for every body. Only even sizes is a bummer. Get with it. 4 stars for no odd sizes.

Yes i would highly recommend the product
Use for travel, hiking.
I love my new shorts. I used them during my stay in the Smokies. I wore them 3 days straight while hiking and they never seemed to get dirty. Best shorts I have bought from Kuhl. ***
