Based closely to a military cargo short used in the Burma campaign, the Kuhl Z Cargo short is cut from Kühl-dry bi-component fabric which is both quick drying and comfortable. KuhlAir Vent system lets air through mesh pockets you control. Cargo pockets billow out for storage. Sidewinder adjustable straps at the waist for micro fit without a belt.

Great shorts
I love these shorts. I have 4 pairs. They are comfortable and wear well. I live in the southeastern US where the summer is hot and humid. These are the coolest cargo shorts that I have found. The adjustable side straps are a key feature for me because wearing a belt with a thin t-shirt untucked in order to maximize air flow in the summer is not ideal. Also, water weight changes throughout the day are easily compensated for with the adjustable side strap.

Great shorts
I love these shorts. I have 4 pairs. They are comfortable and wear well. I live in the southeastern US where the summer is hot and humid. These are the coolest cargo shorts that I have found. The adjustable side straps are a key feature for me because wearing a belt with a thin t-shirt untucked in order to maximize air flow in the summer is not ideal. Also, water weight changes throughout the day are easily compensated for with the adjustable side strap.

Almost perfect
Dont get me wrong: these are some terrific shorts and I wear them often. The pockets are just about perfect for what I carry and for the most part they feel like they will last many years and tough summers. The one disappointment that a have with these is the side straps. The fact that I wouldn't need to wear a belt was a big sell point for me, however the second time I wore the shorts one of them fell off completly and the other one was barely holding on. This would not have happened if the straps went the entire way around the waist. Long story short: I cut off both of them and now wear a belt with my shorts--and they are still great! Anyone who is looking for a quality pare of light shorts should buy these. ~ Logan (This is important feedback for KUHL and we will make sure that it reaches both the design team and production staff. Quality product:
I bought 3 pairs of these shorts back in 2010 at an REI, and they have been the only shorts I've ever warn since. These are quality shorts. They dry quite quickly, and the Zipper pockets are very useful for carrying big items. I'm so happy I finally found these shorts again for sale.

Great Shorts
Like these shorts but not as much as the Ambush Cargo or Renegade. Just my opinion. They are comfortable and look great. Plenty of pocket space and well constructed.

Great Pair of Shorts
Great pair of shorts. Well constructed. The mesh pockets were a great idea as it doesn't hold sand or water. I have 3 criticisms (although very minor): 1. please double the reinforcement in the inseam, I haven't had a problem, but 2 - or even 3 - lines of stitching would be great! 2. The side adjustment webbing could be a bit longer (and therefore more effective). And 3, please make these into full length trousers.

HOW TO MEASURE:
Neck: Measure around the base of your neck.
Chest/Bust: Measure fullest part of chest/bust, under arms and across shoulder blades.
Waist: Measure around waist where you normally wear your pants.
Hip: Standing with feet together, measure around fullest part of seat.
Sleeves: With arms relaxed at sides and slightly bent, measure from center back across shoulder point to elbow and down to wrist.
Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fit well and measure from crotch to the bottom of the leg along the inseam.
