This shirt walked 2663 miles!

5/5

I wore this shirt while walking 2663 miles from the Mexican border of California to the Canadian border while thru-hiking the PCT in 2012. The shirt never had an odor despite all the sweat it took to hike 2663 miles. The material dries faster than any product I've ever encountered. A pet peeve of mine in the back country is putting on a soggy wet shirt. The shirt dried completely during lunch breaks and it felt great to put on a crispy dry shirt to get rolling again. The best part about the shirt was how appealing it is to the eyes. The tailored fit, dressy collar and bright colors made a wooly bearded long haired long distance hiker look like a weekend warrior just out for a stroll. The shirt looked so good and presentable that hikers couldn't tell that I'd hiked 2000+ miles through the wilderness. Not only does this shirt look good, but it can stand up to the wear and tear of a long distance adventure!

Product Manager

Never has one shirt received so many positive comments from my fellow workers. They loved the feel of the material, the buttons and just awesome colors. It has a bit of a taper towards the waist, but nothing that starts to require a change in size or opening a button. Look forward to getting the rest of the colors in the garment.

good shirt

5/5

I just picked this up in Blue today at REI. Its a nice shirt, as far as I can tell Its just like the former rustler shirts just in new colors and that's a good thing In my opinion. Its nice lightweight breathable fabric with pearl snaps! The tag says it has a "hidden security pocket" that is so well hidden to the point of not existing. Overall I like the shirt and recommend it.

Technology

IONIK®

Negatively charged silver ions attached to the fabric fibers prevent the growth of bacteria, stop the development of odors and conduct heat away from the skin to keep you kühl.  IONIK™ fabric works without chemicals to provide optimal climate control with UPF 30 protection.

UPF

The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (or “UPF”) rating system measures the UV protection provided by fabric. It is very similar to the SPF rating system used for sunscreens.  A fabric rated UPF 30 is blocking 96.7% UV; UPF of 50 blocks 98% of the UV radiation.  Skin cancer risk can be reduced with effectively limiting the amount of exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet light spectrum.
