The greatest gift of living, is the joy of giving! In celebration of Giving Tuesday and in support of our local community, KÜHL is donating $25K to both the Human Outreach Project (HOP) and Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS). These programs help ensure future generations can experience everything the outdoors has to offer.

Join us this Tuesday and give back to those in need. Find a local charity in your community or cause you care about on Charity Navigator. And please share in our Mountain Culture & Instagram with the hashtags #GivingTuesday #GivingisKUHL.

Human Outreach Project

Created in conjunction with its parent company, World Wide Trekking (WWTrek), the Human Outreach Project (HOP) was conceived on the premise that trekkers could – and should – give back to the communities in which they travel. It is a way to support and empower local individuals and communities that play host to WWTREK’s travel and exploration programs around the globe. With humanitarian support for both individuals and groups, it is HOP’s firm commitment to leave a positive impact on WWTREK destinations. At KÜHL, we are proud to support the HOP’s endeavor to protect the stability and welfare of some of the most unique cultures worldwide.

The Human Outreach Project works hard to put donor dollars into action. KÜHL’s donation helped facilitate the restoration of the Nepalese Pheriche Aid-Post, which is, by far, the closest to Everest and on the way to the base camp. This aid post is the only medical center in upper Khumbu Valley. Used by both climbers and local Sherpa communities, our aid specifically went into training and rest facilities for guides, porters, and travelers in need.

KÜHL®’s donations have helped facilitate the restoration of two communities by providing medical clinics and aid posts operated by local community members. While the Periche Aid-Post is still under construction, with efforts picking up again after the winter months, you can read all about the finished Manang location here!
