Keeping KÜHL with Zerra Convertible Dress

???????????????????????????????

I pride myself on being a low-maintenance mama. You won’t find my closet brimming with haute couture or high heels. More likely you’ll stumble upon old running shoes and flip flops. When I switch out my women's winter wardrobe, I simply transition from yoga pants and women's long-sleeved tees to Bermuda shorts and tanks. But there’s one piece of summer attire this laid-back mama can’t live without. When the sun starts deep-frying the deep South, I gleefully pull out my sundresses. Cute, cool, and comfortable, sundresses are the perfect fit for busy mamas. Dropping the kids off at daycare and can’t be bothered to piece together an entire outfit? Slip on a simple women's dress and flops, and you’re ready to go. Leaving the pool after a morning of wrangling and wringing out the kids? Pull a dress over your suit, do a quick deck change, and you’re ready to lunch with the under 5 crowd. Panicking because you’ve got a business trip and race t-shirts don’t qualify as business casual? Pair a nicer sundress with a cardigan and strappy sandals, and you’re one sophisticated lady. Whether you’re no-frills or all-about-the-frills, simple sundresses are an easy solution for summer wear.

Zerra Convertible Dress Product Review

When KÜHL sent me the Zerra Convertible Dress, I couldn’t wait to test it on our Caribbean cruise. I received the Zerra Dress in Huckleberry, size XS. Like my other women's performance apparel from KÜHL, the Zerra did not disappoint. I wore this dress to every port of call on our trip. It was perfect to wear over my swim suit. After bummin' on the beach all day, I’d just slip it on, ditch my bikini top, and head back to the boat.

What I Love

Super Soft Fabric

Made with ProLuxe fabric, the knit blend is tear-resistant and luxuriously soft.

Flowing Fit & Convertible Design

The Zerra dress features a relaxed fit, keeping you cool and comfortable on hot days.

Worn as a dress, the hem falls just above the knee. The ruched top and seamed band under the chest give the top a nice shape and fit. The versatile sash can be tied around the neck for a halter top or around the chest to go strapless…and get rid of those tan lines! Tie the sash around the hip and convert the Zerra to a mid-calf skirt. Perfect for long walks on the beach with your main squeeze. Or all-out sprints to retrieve giggling toddlers from the surf.

Packs, Washes & Wears Well

The supple ProLuxe fabric is perfect for rolling up and packing in a carry-on or gym bag. Shake it out and it’s ready to wear. After wearing the Zerra several days on our trip, I followed the instructions and washed on the delicate cycle in cold water. I laid the dress flat to dry and threw into the dryer (no heat!) for a few minutes to knock out the wrinkles. After washing, the colors still looked great, and the fabric held its shape.

What I Didn't Love

I usually order down a size in dresses because they tend to run bigger, plus you don’t have to worry about the fit around the waist as much as pants. Even the XS ran a little big for me. The overall length was fine, but I would prefer a smaller, more fitted top. For women with larger chests, the simple seam won't give enough support; you'll need a bra underneath.

Making the Grade

The Zerra Convertible Dress earns a solid A. Supremely soft, comfortable, and cute, it’s perfect for beach bummin’, summer funnin’, and all-round casual wear. Retailing at $65, you get two-for-the-price-of-one with the convertible Zerra. I received the Zerra Convertible Dress at no cost. I received no other compensation for this post, and all opinions are my own.
