Be Anything but Ordinary in Klaudette Pant

We’re three real women and mothers with very different bodies, and we wanted to see if KÜHL could design a pant that flattered us equally.

KÜHL Klaudette Pant Review

Enter KÜHL’s new Klaudette Pant. Featuring soft yet rugged stretch fabric, feminine styling, and dart detailing, the Klaudette is a sturdy and stylish women’s hiking pant that serves double duty on the trail and in town.

We had mixed reactions to the fit and length, but we all agreed the Klaudette is super cute, velvety soft, and made to move with you. Even when you’re hanging upside down in a tree.

What We Love

Extraordinary Fabric

Constructed of a sturdy, stretch blend, the Klaudette pant is soft, smooth, and more robust than your typical women’s pant. The cotton/polyester/spandex fabric hugs your hard-earned muscles and stretches for a flattering fit.

Allie immediately noticed the velvety feel of the pants. Anything but ordinary fabric, she loved the buttery touch when she slipped into her Khaki Klaudettes.

She also loved how quickly the fabric dried after a rainy day running errands with twin boys…who move like turtles. Soaked from the waist up, her pants stayed clean and dry.

Slim Fit & Feminine Style

Designed for a woman’s body, the Klaudette features flattering, feminine styling and dart detailing for a better fit.

The Klaudette made an impact on Angela right away. Straight out of the package, she noticed the styling and rich color.

Decorative rivets, back pocket stitching, and double front belt loops add style. An articulated knee, gusseted inseam, and reinforced stitching provide superior movement, performance and durability.

The Klaudette runs on the snug side, and the straight silhouette is very fitted through the hips, thighs, and butt.

The fabric loosens up during wear, but order up a size if you want more wiggle room.

Size 2’s were a little snug for Nicole but a perfect fit for Allie. Angela sized up to a 4 for the best fit.

KUHLKURVE Fit & Italian Snap

Perfect for athletic bodies – and any woman who wants coverage – the KUHLKURVE design combines a midrise front and higher-hugging back to eliminate gapping (AKA plumber crack).

Paired with the Italian snap closure, there’s no digging for all-day comfort.

What We Didn’t Love

Many KÜHL women’s pants feature an internal drawstring for a custom fit, a great feature for performance pants you can’t or don’t want to pair with a belt. With stretchy fabric, snug fit, and belt loops, Nicole thought the drawstring was an unnecessary extra on the Klaudette.

Kuhl only offers the Klaudette in a 32-inch inseam. Both Allie (5’2) and Nicole (5’5) had lots of excess length. Nicole has the Riot Pant, which also measures 32 inches, but the Klaudette was significantly longer.

We tucked the extra fabric into tall boots. The 15” bottom leg opening was too narrow to go over trail shoes, so Nicole rolled up her pants when going casual.

We’d love to see a 30-inch inseam and a skinny version of these pants. The stretch fabric lends itself to a skinny fit, and a taper through the calf and ankle would pair great with flats or boots.

Making the Grade

A great go-to pant for mountain or market, the Klaudette Pant earns an A-. The fit/sizing were the only reason it didn’t earn top marks.

The extraordinary, suede-like fabric is our favorite feature, and we love the thoughtful touches behind this sturdy and stylish pant. Retailing at $79 and available in Sage, Carbon, and Khaki, pair the Klaudette with any and every color in your winter wardrobe.

Allie, Angela, and Nicole received KÜHL apparel at no cost. They received no other compensation for this post, and all opinions are their own.
