To celebrate Mother's Day, we collected quotes about what it means to be a mom and asked our ambassadors and contributors to share pictures and thoughts about what makes the KÜHL mama in their life so special.

Take a few moments this weekend to thank that special mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend for all she does. Happy Mother's Day!

My mother, Ruth, is a walking miracle. From a young age, my mother always encouraged me to travel and be adventurous through her own journeys abroad. A few years ago she caught falciparum malaria (the most dangerous form of malaria) whilst visiting our once home in Malawi. With a high mortality rate, even with treatment, those close were not sure if she would make it, but remarkably she survived. Through sheer determination, she went from months without even the energy to stand, to recently walking the 'Race for Life' which is 3 miles long. She has taught me the real meaning of tolerance and bravery and is a true example that the ability to achieve something starts in your mind. It's because of her that I appreciate the outdoors and try never to miss an opportunity for adventure.

My mom deserves 100% credit for my love of the outdoors. She was always taking us hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and more and insisted that we do as much outside as possible. Whether hiking in the mountains of Grand Teton National Park or paddle boarding in Florida, I owe my love of #mountainculture to my mom!
