Fueling an Obsession with Women's Firefly Hoody

Hello. My name is Christine, and I have an obsession with women’s jackets.

I have winter and spring jackets. I have running jackets and ski jackets. Our closet is jam-packed, and some (ahem, my husband) might say that it’s bursting at the seams.

KÜHL Women’s Firefly Hoody Product Review

I can’t help myself when it comes to jackets, especially if it’s a hoody. So when KÜHL recently sent me their new FIREFLY HOODY, I couldn’t wait to test it out. I’ve brought it along on some fall hikes in Vermont, and I’ve worn it all around New York City. christine-firefly-hoody-1

What I Love

First, it has a hood. Have I mentioned that I love hoodies?

In all seriousness, the Firefly Hoody has become a favorite. Thanks to the PRIMALOFT Gold insulation, it keeps me warm on chilly mornings and evenings. But when the sun comes up during the day, I’m not uncomfortably hot. The jacket breathed well and helped me regulate my temperature during our hikes in Vermont. Not too hot. Not too cold.

Plus, it’s super lightweight and not bulky. There are soft fabric panels on the elbows, arms and sides so I never felt constricted when I moved around (and even doing some yoga).

The sleeves were just the right length and the back of the women’s jacket is slighty longer, providing a little extra coverage in the seat, which is great if you’re sitting down on a log during a hike or a park bench in the city. The front zipper pull is a metal KÜHL crest, which is a nice little touch.

Overall, it’s easy-to-wear and easy-to-stash in your backpack as needed.

What I Didn’t Love

While overall the jacket fit true to size, the torso is a little boxy on me. However, I expect the extra room to come in handy in the winter when I’ll layer additional layers underneath.

And I have to admit, I kept expecting to find thumbholes in the sleeves. Love them or hate them, I’ve become accustomed to thumbholes to keep my hands warm when I don’t have gloves.

Making the Grade

The FIREFLY HOODY has quickly become my go-to Fall jacket, and I anticipate that it will be a key layer in my winter wardrobe too. It’s the perfect lightweight, insulated jacket, and its versatility also makes it great for travel. Retailing at 0, the Firefly Hoody is a solid investment for your wardrobe.

I received KÜHL apparel for this review at no cost. I received no other compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.
