Best Shirt I've Ever Owned, With One Fatal Drawback...

4/5

I can't say enough good things about this shirt...seriously. It looks good, breathes well, has functional pockets, doesn't absorb odors, blocks the harmful rays of the sun without getting too hot, etc. You can wear it with a pair of jeans to the office or with a pair of shorts and flip flops on the beach. It's the Jeep of shirts...goes anywhere and looks good doing it. That being said, this shirt/material has one fatal flaw. It pills. Badly. I owned this shirt for a few weeks before wearing it as I helped crew for a Race Across America cycling team this past summer. Over the course of that race I wore the shirt on consecutive days and several without washing. It performed admirably, other than the fact that by the end of the race, there was some seriously pilling of the fabric along the lower third. I often had a messenger bag around my shoulder that would likely rub in areas and was constantly in and out of vehicles and moving A LOT, but I still think the material should withstand that sort of wear. It's to the point now that I will no longer wear it to the office as it looks pretty beat up. Still a great shirt, just know the fabric has its limits. Very much like the Renegade Pant I purchased...must be the same material as those pilled even worse and eventually had to be donated as they just looked too beat up. I'd buy this shirt again as it does 95% of everything really well, just know it will likely pill. Hope this helps!

Great Shirt - Fits a bit small

5/5
Fit: Fits Small

Really like this shirt. Wears well, comfortable, and stylish. My only complaint is that it seems to run a bit small. I typically wear an XL in almost every brand out there. Ordered a Kuhl XL and it’s a bit....snug. Ordered the XXXL and found it fits great, like most other brand's XL shirts. (I'm 6'2" - 225). Will be buying more of these shirts.

REPLY FROM KÜHL: Can't say we agree the Wunderer style fits small, RoboHobo. We are just glad you found the size that fits you. This is an amazing shirt that should be in every man's wardrobe. Glad you got yours!

Nice shirt, crummy buttons

4/5
Fit: True to Size

I bought this shirt for my recent trip to Maui. Loved it. I never over heated even when the temps were in the high 90's. Kept the blazing sun off my skin so I could cut down on coral smothering sunscreen. I just washed the shirt for the second time, and one button has come off already. If I could change this shirt, it would have snaps! The buttons are quite small, as are the button holes. Overall a nice piece for fair skinned folks who love the outdoors just please change the buttons

REPLY FROM KÜHL: Great review. It truly does wonders at keeping the sun off the skin even in warm weather. You might want to checkout the parashirt in white as well for the same technique. We used it in Moab, June 5, 2014 and temps were in the 80's*F and it worked perfectly. Even used the hood. We have not experienced broken buttons on this shirt but we will pass this along to production and ask customer service to keep an eye out for this issue. Thanks.

One of my favorites, but . . . .

4/5
Fit: True to Size

Bought one in each color and love the fit. They are tapered just enough to prevent ballooning, but you don't have to have a perfect physique either. They also have enough length to tuck in to dress up, without pulling out when you raise your arms, but not too long to untuck. But . . . the buttons. I've washed and worn each shirt between 8-15 times and had to stitch back on 4 or 5 buttons so far. Snaps, please, or some stitching that is on par with the quality we've all grown to love from you guys and your products. [Me Culpa. The fix is now in place on the button stitching. ~KUHL]

Great shirt

4/5
Fit: True to Size

Similar to other reviewers, I love this shirt- I wore it climbing around on mountains in BC and it kept me cool in the sun reflecting off the snow and warm in the shade. But...the buttons. I've had to sew two back on so far. I have not had any issues with other stitching or seams, but the buttons just don't seem to be very secure. Outside of that, it is one of my favorite shirts in terms of fit and utility. The venting is great and it dries quickly.

Love the tufflex material and the style of the shirt. Can be worn hiking or camping, but also looks good enough to be worn out at night some places. Kuhl products are just so well made, comfortable and easy to care for.

Great fabric for when I went to Tanzania. Keeps the sun off skin plus light weight so you don't over heat.

The Wunderer LS shirt is awesome -- i like them so much that I'm sure I'll have one each color.\n\nI use them on a daily basis during the warmer weather. They provide great function whether I am running around town, or heading out on the river for a kayak or SUP. I am 5'9" 165lbs 33 waist, and like the Medium.

UPF

The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (or “UPF”) rating system measures the UV protection provided by fabric. It is very similar to the SPF rating system used for sunscreens. A fabric rated UPF 30 is blocking 96.7% UV; UPF of 50 blocks 98% of the UV radiation. Skin cancer risk can be reduced with effectively limiting the amount of exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet light spectrum.
