Best convertibles I've Seen

5/5

Have not worn them in varying conditions yet, but they are the most comfortable convertibles I have ever worn. Pure nylon plants feel clammy to me - hot in warm weather, cold in cool weather. These feel like they will be comfortable in either condition. The fit is good. I normally wear 36X32 and these fit great in that size. The pockets are convenient without looking like you are wearing a backpack. The zip-off seams are definitely less noticable than most. But still clearly there. The zipper garages are a nice touch, but the pulls still show since the garages are on the outside of each leg. The only very minor suggestion I would make is to put the garages on the inside of the leg instead.

Great pants!

5/5
Fit: true to size

These are the best convertible pants out there!!!!! Soft and comfortable fabric that will dry fast. Does not rub along the zip-off point like many other convertible pants do. They are going to be great pants for backpacking the John Muir Trail! A great purchase! Worth the money! I can't stop wearing them in every day life even around doing errands because they are so comfortable! They are not the typical "nerdy" convertibles; they are very cool looking pants! In fact, you can't even really tell that they are covertibles until you are up close because the zipper is hidden. I also like that the zipper has a little pocket, so that it does not jingle as you walk. It is great that you don't have to take your boots off to zip the legs off either! AHH I am just so satisfied by this purchase! I am getting really excited for my trip now too! Thanks Kuhl! I will buy another pair without a doubt!!!!

Excellent Pants

5/5
Fit: true to size

Best fitting convertible pants out there. Comfortable. Well thought out features like the little pocket for the leg zippers keeping them hidden and secure. I wore them for about a year in extreme desert/mountain conditions and hand washed them when dirty. They dry fast. Durable. Not a missing thread.

Great Pants

5/5
Fit: true to size

Read one of the reviews and was a bit concerned about the fit as the review said that although he was a 34 he purchased a 32 and it fit fine. I went to a local shop to try the fit, as I’m a 34, and the 32 was too tight and not comfortable. I went ahead and brought the 34 and upon arrival found these to be a very true fit. I am a 34 and the 34 fit true and perfect. The Carbon color is a bit more on the green side than indicated on this web page but the pants are awesome and I’m looking forward to trying them out in the Peruvian Andes.

Mister

5/5

Bought these pants and went to Spain. Walked 33 days straight on the Camino de Santiago 900 kilometers from St Jean, France to Muxia on the Atlantic coast of Spain. Wore them every day and washed them every day by hand. They came clean and looked fresh. Great pant. Didn't use the zip off because I didn't want to bother with sunscreen.

Technology

Born Free Gusseted Crotch™

The Born Free Gusseted Crotch is an added fabric panel inserted in the pant leg and crotch area. It adds extension to the range of motion for the pant.  This design element aids hikers in crag hopping and climbers in pulling off bouldering maneuvers.

Articulation

The art of joining things in such a way that motion is possible.  Where the knee bends, the elbow crooks, and the shoulders join the trunk and arms, articulated construction builds movement into the design.   This includes gusseted panels (shoulders) and darts –on knees and elbows, darts gather the fabric to articulate those body parts’ natural range of motion.

Fiocchi™ Snap

These imported Italian snaps found on our pants lay flat against the body with no stem to dig into your waist.  The Kühl Fiocchi™ Snap has been custom engineered to increase the closure strength.

DRYPOINT™

Being dry is the point. UPF 40 and super quick dry, this Nylon rich fabric with a touch of Cotton on the face for added breathability and komfort, pulls moisture to the surface for speedy evaporation.

Free Ryde Waist

Another hallmark of Kühl design, this feature incorporates the Kühl Yoke Waistband –it follows the natural contour of the human body.  The hips rise in the back and so should your pant!  The Free Ryde Waist provides a contour fit to keep the pant in place as you move!  The Free Ryde Waist also has a longer length from belt top to crotch for extra room to extend your range during crag hops and bouldering maneuvers.
