Free Rydr vs The Law Jean
I bought these pants recently after purchasing a pair of The Law Jeans (which I fell in love with immediately), and I am sad to report that I am not as happy with the Free Rydr pants. I know everyone's body style is different, but the Free Rydr do not fit me as comfortably around the waist (they ride lower), and the taper is less than I would like at the bottom of the pants (probably due to the additional material at the back of the ankle for the scuff protection). They also shrank quite a bit after the first wash/dry. As a positive, they seem to fit more comfortably the longer I wear them, so maybe they just have a longer break in period than The Law Jeans (which fit more perfectly from day one). As with any of the Kuhl merchandise that I have purchased, they are well designed and well made with quality materials, and I can tell that they will serve me well for a long time. The lack of a perfect fit is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars, and I would recommend that you try these pants without hesitation as they may fit your body type better than mine.

I prefer the regular rydr pants but they're low on size and colors, ordered these and they look stylish, same rugged feel but a bit of stretchy. I will buy these til the Rydr are back in stock. they look good and wear comfortably. Will buy the proper color for work wear (military)

These Free Ryders are exactly what I was looking for. The fit is slimmer than the Ryders. They are more stylish, but of course not as roomy for working and bending. The length is perfect.
